There are lots of students at my former college earning philosophy degrees; I had to take a few philosophy courses to get the generalized part of my education at university, and I was surprised to find out how many of my peers in those classes were actually majors in that subject, and working toward getting philosophy degrees. I did find the information that I got out of the classes to be very interesting, but I do not have any interest in trying to earn myself any philosophy degrees; I am more a math kind of person myself. However, a lot of those people working towards earning themselves philosophy degrees did end up being good friends of mine, and a lot of them were really fun to hang out with. Of course, I did not get along with everyone trying to earn philosophy degrees, but you are never going to get along with everyone, right? I am glad that I got to take those philosophy courses with out actually working towards getting philosophy degrees, because I was allowed to approach the subject matter in a slightly more relaxed manner than some of the other students, which enabled me to enjoy it on a different level than the other students. Maybe some time in the future, just for fun, I will look into earning philosophy degrees, but at this point in my life, I would rather focus on my primary directive, which is earning my math degree, but once I am established in my field with a good career, I may be able to diversify my education a little bit more with further course work. It is hard to say before the time comes, though, because there is also a very good chance that my work load within my chosen field will grow and grow, and I will never get the chance to look into more philosophy course work in the future; only time will tell!
